5-Star Campsite Right Next to the Baltic Beach
Dünencamp Karlshagen is located in the north of Usedom, the most untouched part of the Baltic island. The campsite backs straight on to Karlshagen’s Baltic Sea beach and lies in the middle of an idyllic pine forest. The beach, which is up to 80 m wide and which stretches for kilometres, is therefore just a few metres from your tent or caravan. A light sea breeze carries the sound of the waves and the pleasant sea air straight into the tent or the caravan’s door..
Camping Season/ Reservations
The campsite is run by Karlshagen’s municipally owned company for “Tourism and Economy” and is open all year round. The Dünencamp’s team accepts booking requests all year round for the current year. Reservations for the next year will be accepted from the 1st December onwards. Essentially, you can arrive at the Dünencamp campsite without a reservation. However, you would be on the safe side of things with a prior booking, especially in the holiday periods and dates around national bank holidays. If you have any questions, you can contact us here.
The campsite has a capacity of around 340 pitches. To make finding your way around the campsite easier, we have divided it into three sections: “Forest”, “Sun” and “Sea”. The “little campers” can thus find their way back to their tent easily. All of the pitches are plotted out and marked according to their section.
Of course we provide electricity and water. On the campsite there are distribution boxes (equipped with individual meters) and taps every 20-30 metres so that your obligatory morning coffee or tea can be brewed freshly. The “Forest” sector offers TV connections and Wi-Fi can be used near to reception. Additionally, there is a TV room for everyone’s use in the reception building.
On the Dünencamp campsite there are three modern and clean sanitary houses. Here campers will find WCs, individual and family showers, as well as bathrooms for the disabled. You can prepare food and cook in the modern kitchen with sinks and cooking facilities. Washing machines and driers, as well as a central disposal area for dirty water are also at your disposal.
We are also well prepared for the littlest campers. The Dünencamp’s sanitary facilities are equipped with baby changing tables and baby baths. Thanks to sinks that have been mounted extra low, children will feel grown-up when they brush their teeth and wash their hands in our two family bathrooms. In the reception building there is also a cosy play room and Karlchen’s book camp for rainy days. At 10.30 a.m. on Mondays in July and August, the Ostseekasper (Baltic joker) is bound to bring a smile to your face with his entertainment programme. Additionally in summer there are all sorts of other arts and crafts for the little ones to join in with. There are more tips for kids here. The campsite’s playground offers camping dwarves the opportunity to run riot and they can have a match on the table tennis table. The “world’s largest sandpit” is located just behind the dunes and is perfect for digging and “baking cakes”. The wide sandy beach that gently slopes into the sea is perfect for children of all ages, making bathing fun in the Baltic easy. By the way, the European blue flag for excellent water quality is hissed on the beach next to the campsite..
Fresh Rolls and Gastronomy
You can buy fresh rolls for breakfast on the campsite and a small snack bar offers everything from fish rolls to grilled sausages, yummy snacks and drinks.
There are two general practitioners in Karlshagen, a dentist surgery, a physiotherapist’s and a pharmacy (you can find their contact details here). The duty lists for the weekends can be found in the reception.
The Zeltplatzstraße (road through the campsite) is a dead-end and should only be used by campers to reach their pitch. It is forbidden to drive on the campsite during the lunch break and night time peace period (see campsite rules).
Parking You want to come by car? No problem. There are secure car-parking spaces in the Dünencamp, most of them are on the edge of the campsite, on the Zeltplatzstraße and near to the caravan pitches. So that we can offer you a good car-parking space for your car, we ask you to let us know how many cars you are coming in, by noting them on your booking. The parking of cars is only allowed on marked and allocated car-parking spaces on the access roads within the campsite and on a car park outside of the campsite’s grounds.
The Dünencamp team will take your caravan straight to its pitch.
You may bring your dog with you as long as you comply with these rules: (1) Please keep your dog on its lead at all times. (2) There is a designated zone for dogs on the beach. If you have your dog with you, you are only allowed to use this part of the beach. (3) There are dog waste bag dispensers at the campsite’s reception, along the Strandstraße and in the Kurpark – please clear up your dog’s waste.
